Photos of Dads at a One Direction concert

onedirection1You saw The Rollings Stones in 1978, you were even at that crazy 1984 Depeche Mode show in Germany, but tonight you are here. Your 13-year-old daughter Kaylee wanted to see a band she believes is greater than The Rolling Stones will ever be, a band known as One Direction. You are a good dad so you go to the show with her and close your eyes and remember that time you heard Keith Richards hit the opening chords to Start Me Up and pray that One Direction keeps it to one encore. See more dads at the show below:

Please don’t make fun of these Dads. I think it’s great that these Dads love and care for their girls so much that they will buy a ticket, for themselves, to a concert they could care less about so that their daughters can go and be safe. Much better than the drop-offs that other parents do because it’s easier. Notice in the second picture you can see a lot of the crowd that is all teenaged girls, what a great place for a pervert or pedophile. GOOD GOING DADS!!!

Pretty sure they’re not making fun of dads. They’re pointing out how comically uninterested they are in the crap music.

Crap to them, no doubt. I’m sure their daughters would look just as uninterested at a concert for music their fathers would enjoy

The difference is, is that their kids wouldn’t go to a concert their Dad wanted to. It’s sweet of them to be there, and frankly if my Dad was at a One Direction concert and enjoying himself, I’d be a little concerned.Hats off to these Dads is all I’m saying

‘Start Me Up’ was the ’81 tour, not ’78.

I’m pretty sure the exactness of the dates wasn’t the point of the communication. Thanks for playing though.

no you’re right, journalists and authors shouldn’t be held to facts, they should say whatever the hell they want. As long as your point isn’t the fact it doesn’t matter if the fact is accurate? stupidest thing i’ve ever heard.

          August 17, 2013 at 1:09 pm

We could call this journalism and pick at the technique. We’d totally miss the point of the humorous post, but we’d be right right right!

        • Ryan

          October 1, 2013 at 11:21 pm

It’s supposed to be a humorous article. Regardless if the date was correct or not, it wouldn’t have made a difference.

Now if this was a post that really mattered to some current event the author would lose credibility for not having the right facts.

Unless of course you find dads at One Direction concerts matters of concern, then you’re right, this sorry is not funny and total garbage because the author got a date wrong.

Ah, I must have misread Theodore’s post. I thought he was throwing in a random fact/correction in a very friendly demeanor. I missed the part where he says the communication was lost because the date was wrong.

        Thanks for playing, though.

I’m relieved my kids are into music by artists I’d be happy to take them to see.

That just goes to show that these dads love their daughters and are willing to suffer through a concert they have no interest in, just because they know it will make their girls happy

Not even a comment on the music, but these guys are dull performers. They just oaf from stage left to stage right. I wouldn’t say that to my daughter, but I’m sharing it here. I took her to the show in L.A. Glad we were at least in the suite. Their were plenty of other things to occupy my time.

These are pretty excruciating, but it just shows what good Dads they are. My Dad takes the cake, though. He accompanied me to a concert that featured the Backstreet Boys. Why does that take the cake you ask?? Because I was like 19 or 20 years old. 🙂 My Dad is awesome.

Because eventually our daughters musical taste will evolve!! This is just the start…they are already asking about Blondie and the Undertones..(Teenage kicks, one way or another) .A few gentle pushes and it will be “Goodbye 1D…Hello Rock N Roll!!”….Trust the Dads….It’s a plan!!!

I did the same thing as the last guy — sat out in the corridor at a sports arena, during a rock show I chaperoned my son and his girlfriend to. My mistake was not bringing a book to read….

everyone always has to make this generational distinction but those of us who love music know that there are only 2 kinds of music and the generation doesn’t apply, there is good and bad. I’ve never heard of One Direction so I can’t say but judging by their following well…..but those dads have the right idea, let your daughter enjoy her music and make sure it is safe…oh, and we’ll see where One Direction is when these girls are old enough to be moms….wait, let’s see where One Direction will be in a year…

I agree. One Direction does not make good music. It is appropriate that these fathers are bored or even asleep at One Direction concerts.

Oh my god! Fortunately, that I’m A 13 years old Devotee. I’m so happy for that and my dad don’t need to bother with me and fucking One Direction. He just go with me on a Depeche Mode concert and have a fun with me.
