42 years ago today: John Lennon writes and records Instant Karma
On January 27th, 1970, John Lennon wrote and recorded the hit single Instant Karma. Lennon was quoted as saying that he “wrote it for breakfast, recorded it for lunch, and we’re putting it out for dinner.” George Harrison played lead guitar on the recording, Billy Preston played organ, and Phil Spector produced it.
