See boomboxes being made out of vintage suitcases
Chicago artist Floyd A. Davis creates beautiful boomboxes out of vintage suitcases. He visited with Dropculture who had this to say:
Floyd has taken a throwback and thrown it back even farther, wedding the beloved boombox of the 80’s with vintage suitcases – the ones sported by gentlemen, when there were still gentlemen – he and his mom forage from antique stores. But Floyd’s project goes deeper than an appeal to the yesteryear aesthetic at the vanguard of this year’s fashion. For this DIY Renaissance Man, boomboxes are about taking music back from the laptops and “blasting it” to your friends the old-fashioned way.
